Evaluating & Monitoring Hospital Staffing Plans: Landmark Medical Center, RI

As of January 2006, each hospital in Rhode Island is required by law to provide the Department of Health a projected plan for staffing of nurses.  This is not a retrospective report with actual numbers.  It is a report of how a hospital will staff each unit, based on an estimate of the future census for that unit.  Each hospital has provided a report that includes some general information about the hospital and the staffing plans for each unit in the hospital.  This Hospital Staffing Disclosure law was passed as a result of the tireless efforts of many UNAP members and our allies. The UNAP intends to assist health care professionals and the general public inevaluating and monitoring hospital staffing plans.
