Dear UNAP member,

As I am sure you have heard, Rhode Island Hospital administration has approached the Union about a contract extension in exchange for increased wages and other benefits.

Union leadership negotiated with Lifespan and both parties exchanged several proposals. This past Friday, Lifespan gave us their “Last, Best and Final Offer”, which can be found HERE.

The proposal from Lifespan calls for a 21 month contract extension - changing our expiration from June 30, 2023 to March 31, 2025. The proposal also includes several pay increases for everyone over and above the next scheduled pay increase in March 2022. The pay increases, for all members are as follows:

·     No later than 30 days after ratification:        3.25%

·     March 31, 2022                                            2.75%

·     July 1, 2023                                                    3.0%

·     July 1, 2024                                                    3.0%

The proposal also includes increases to some differentials, one time payments (bonuses), increased tuition assistance, student loan repayment benefit and an improved dental benefit (Delta Dental details)

This entire proposal is subject to membership ratification.

Meetings and a vote on the proposal are being scheduled and as soon as I have any information on dates, times and location I will share with all of you. In the meantime, I wanted you to have this information in your hands for your careful consideration.

As always, if you have any questions, please reach out to your Unit Rep, UNAP Vice President, or contact one of our Liaisons listed.
